Pearl Jam

Pearl Jam have announced that they will return to Europe this summer to perform 7 headlining festivals and 6 of their own concerts. The 13 date tour kicks off on June 8th in Lisbon, Portugal and inlcudes dates in Spain, Germany, Poland, Italy, Austria, England, Denmark, Holland and Belgium. There are currently no other Pearl Jam shows scheduled for 2007.

"Our shows in Europe last fall were incredible and gave us the itch to return as quickly as possible to some of our favourite places, as well as visit some cities we haven't been to in a while", says Pearl Jam manager, Kelly Curtis. "Historically, there have been five years or so between our visits to Europe, so it's a treat to back again so soon". Pearl Jam, named after lead singer Eddie Vedder's great grandmother Pearl's famous homemade jam, are a Seattle-based rock band considered to be one of the most popular and influential artists of the 1990s. Pearl Jam became a key member of the Seattle grunge explosion, along with Nirvana, Soundgarden and Alice in Chains.

The bands debut album Ten, released in 1991, was a huge commercial and critical success and featured the smash hit Jeremy. With numerous albums such as Vitalogy, No Code and Yield released throughout the 1990s and the 2000s the band have maintained a solid fanbase and continue to perform in sold-out venues around the world.
